INCREASE DIVERSIONS, INJECTIONS, AND EXTRACTIONS
- Proceed with Tembladero Slough Diversion, a component of Pure Water Monterey
- Restore dormant 1900-foot deep Marina Coast Water District (MCWD) Well No. 12 by capping it halfway down to reduce temperature.
- Assembly Bill (AB) 122 Diversion - Marina Coast Water District (MCWD) extracts Salinas River floodwater and stores on MCWD property
- Increase capacity of the Crest/Segunda Pipeline and/or the Segunda Tank or Crest Tank to increase flow from the Carmel Valley Alluvial Aquifer to the Seaside Groundwater Basin
- Expand existing Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) program with new wells in Fitch Park or elsewhere
- Improvements and policy changes to allow injection and extraction from all four existing ASR wells in conjunction with Monterey Pipeline conveyance
- Marina Coast Water District (MCWD) Indirect Potable Reuse (IPR) - inject advanced-treated recycled water into the Deep Aquifers at the District’s Well 9 Site, Sand Tank, and 4th Street wells for later extraction at the existing MCWD Deep Aquifers wells MCWD-10 and MCWD-11
- Convey water in pipelines to unlined retention ponds on former Fort Ord and in Salinas Valley for percolation as infiltration basins
- Increase reliability of operations for Carmel Valley Alluvial Aquifer wells
- Increase capacity of Begonia Iron Removal Plant in Carmel Valley
- New well development in Upper Carmel Valley to divert Carmel River excess water flow during high flow periods
